Compliance

CMSI places the highest priority on adherence to the compliance of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

CMSI’s Compliance Plan and Business Code of Conduct expresses our commitment to comply with billing laws set forth by the government. The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) provides guidance for Physicians and Third Party Billers in this area, therefore we are expected to comply. Our Certified Professional Compliance Officer (CPCO) administers our Compliance Program though written standards, regular employee and physician education, constant auditing, and re-training. Our Compliance Program supports our commitment to the highest standards of ethical conduct. The Compliance Program is an internal and external tool that CMSI uses to strengthen our efforts to detect and prevent violations of the law or our company policies.

To that end, CMSI has extensive knowledge of current regulatory requirements and we are dedicated to staying on top of the latest coding and billing regulations. Every CMSI employee is required to participate in compliance training and attest their adherence to all established Compliance policies. CMSI is committed to ongoing compliance training and education to ensure your billing will be managed and monitored thoroughly and effectively to minimize CMSI’s and your practice’s exposure to compliance risks. The benefit to having a compliance program is a well-trained staff, cleaner claims, and few denials. This means quicker, more accurate payments for you. Our goal is to achieve 100% correct coding and billing.
